Spooky Things In Photographs
May 09, 2013 • 1 Comment
We all remember those "Ghostbuster" photos where the image appears only in a photograph. And we all have looked at clouds and seen thing that resemble images of animals, people and things. Well the same is true in landscape photography. I have a couple of examples where the images are of one thing and within there are subtle images of other things. This takes a little imagination, so bear with me.
Here is Horsetail Fall in Yosemite in February. It is the only time of year and for just two weeks that the Sunset hits the fall just right to make it appear on fire. Great! That's not where I am going with this. When I went in to do some detail work, I noticed a Bison head in the rock formation. Look right and down just a bit to see the eye and nose. Got it? Good!
Now The next one is tricky, so I circled the area with the "Frozen Dog". If you saw "Going South" with Jack Nicholson ..."I am so hungry I could eat a frozen Dog". Well, here it is.
If you stare at it long enough it looks like a long nose dog with furry ears frozen in the ice. This was a shot up on Mt. Whitney ( The Tallest Mountain in the US) and I was just shooting the ice formation. Of course it is not a dog head...or is it????
Spooky can be beautiful.
